At Canadian Health Assistance Program (CHAP), we elevate the lives of the underprivileged by providing vital support through grants and humanitarian services. Our step-by-step process,“Participatory Human Development,” or PHDP, is centered on the development of community groups. Through long-term social integration, our process provides an organizational structure for community members to collectively identify, prioritize and collaborate on sustainable solutions to the poverty-related issues they face. Our staff provides a framework for meaningful personal investment, and a context where everyone has a voice, a purpose, and a role in achieving (and replicating) successful, empowered outcomes.
